Zen…

I am not super zen – hummingbirds are quintessentially UNzen, I think, if one equates being in a state of zen with stillness. But maybe I have it wrong…perhaps to be zen-like (as I observe in my father and my Clifford, to borrow Elsie’s term) is simply to focus: they zero in on meditation, while I, a less focused fluttering bird feel distracted by a few too many flowers…

It’s not for lack of nectar that I sit here with green tea and consider the clay cup I hold (shown in this picture) made by yet another talented friend. With my tea I will turn a new leaf. I shall sip with a focus: all shall be well.
